Meet Phil Pettitt
,
one of Cultivate NSW's committee members. Phil loves being outside helping community and does this every weekday in his role as Community Greening Coordinator with the Royal Botanic Gardens. His weekends are spent in the outdoors in the water or at a remote natural location - surfing, walking and paddling, getting his green or blue therapy!
Who is someone you admire, and why?
My Dad ! He was an amazing person!
What have been the therapeutic benefits of nature/gardens for yourself?
Keeping me connected and constantly learning, it’s kept me always busy with someone interested in gardening wherever I travel.
Name two plants that you love to grow and why?
Black cherry tomato - yum and easy Worsleya procera Brazilian Empress - rare and beautiful!
Where is your favourite place to be in nature?
My beach

If you were a tree, what kind would you be, and why?
Angophora costata - by the coast - resilient and always changing and colourful!
Name a song/artist you've been enjoying listening to lately?
Client Liaison and Nilufer Yanya.
Your favourite gardening tool and why?
Trusty felcos.
